120/2 Broadcloth Shirting Fabric
For our first dress shirt we chose long-staple Turkish cotton which is known for their long, strong fibers, so the yarn is finer and more even, with fewer loose ends, which gives the fabric its softness, subtle luster, and resistance to pilling.
Our 120/2 means the yarn is spun to a fine 120s count and then two threads are twisted together, so the fabric is smooth and light but also stronger, more durable, and less prone to wrinkling than single-ply cloth.
In wear, the shirt breathes well, drapes cleanly, holds a crisp collar, keeps its color, and gets softer with washing. It hits the sweet spot between delicate ultra-high counts and coarser everyday fabrics, fine enough to feel special and sturdy enough to wear every week.
